All members will receive our weekly e-mail newsletter
detailing current operations, projects submitted by
members, and ongoing efforts to build the film industry
in Arkansas for Arkansans.
|
Members who contribute in some way, be it with
money, time, equipment, or other valuable contribution,
will be voting members and will help choose the projects
that are developed by the cooperative.
|
Members are not required to contribute in any way to
our resource-sharing framework; however, if nobody
contributes, no movies get made, and nobody benefits.
All we ask is that members contribute according to their
means. Your contribution is not just an investment in a
movie; it is also an investment in your own future as a
film professional.
|
While we cannot guarantee that every member's project
will be produced by the cooperative, we can guarantee
every contributing member involvement in our
productions as well as all continuing benefits of our
resoruce-sharing framework. Just as our resource-
sharing framework will serve to accomplish the
production of movies that would otherwise remain mere
dreams, cooperative-produced movies will serve as
invaluable on-the-job training grounds for hopeful writers,
producers, directors, actors, and crewmembers.

The Arkansas Independent Film Cooperative
is a non-governmental entity to be operated
by a six-member board of directors
consisting of a Chair, a Vice-Chair, and four
Directors. The six members shall represent
the following aspects of the business:
production and distribution, directing,
writing, crew, and cast, and with exception
of the permanent chair they shall serve
voluntary terms not to exceed two years.
Four director positions remain open.
|
The cooperative's resource-sharing
framework is geared toward the production
of highly marketable independent films in
Arkansas by Arkansans. The cooperative
currently has one project in the works and a
second under consideration. These first two
projects were submitted by and will be
produced under the supervision of
experienced filmmakers. All subsequent
projects will be chosen by the voting
membership at large from a project pool
submitted by the members and selected by
the Board. The profits from each project will
be either allocated to the members
according to their contribution or funneled
into future projects by the cooperative,
depending on a vote by the contributing
members.
